The Law of Vibration
States that anything that exists in our universe, whether seen or unseen, broken down into and analyzed in it’s purest and most basic form, consists of pure energy or light which resonates and exists as a vibratory frequency or pattern. All matter, thoughts and feelings has its own vibrational frequency. The thoughts, feelings and actions we choose also have their own particular rates of vibration. These vibrations will set up resonance with whatever possesses identical frequency. In other words, your thoughts are inseparably connected to the rest of the universe. “Like attracts like”. As you choose good thoughts, more good thoughts of alike nature will follow and you will also be in vibrational harmony with others with like thoughts.
The Laws of the Universe
I find the Law of Vibration to be particularly inspiring…
It basically states that every thing has a vibration including our thoughts and feelings which in turn have different rates of vibration (high or low). It also says that our thoughts are connected to the wider Universe and that ‘like attracts like’ so if you have positive thoughts you will continue to attract positive circumstances etc.
Quantum Physics (and no I am not a scientist, my iPad is actually in shock as I type these words but bear with me) shows that even though things appear to be solid such as the door, your desk, car etc. if we look at them through a high powered microscope it breaks them down into their smallest elements (sub atoms etc.) and it is proven that this seemingly solid object is basically made up of energy and space just as we humans are…
So this got me thinking (what with my lightening fast brain and all) if everything is energy and everything has a vibration (both the things that are tangible like the chair I am sitting in and the things that are intangible like my thoughts and my feelings) then it would follow that everything is connected in, around and through the Universe i.e. everything is linked to everything else in some basic fundamental way…
I live in my head a lot (I mean a lot) and when I am there I am not plugged into whatever or whoever is happening around me. I am usually going over something that has already happened wondering how I could have done it better (that’s the Virgo in me) or I am planning what I need to do next and how I am going to get it done or worrying about something that will probably never ever happen…I can totally zone out and be there physically and actually interact to some level but not really be PRESENT (this is a talent, I know)….
This is something that I try to work on every day – some days are better than others. What I know for sure (said in my very best Oprah voice) is that when I am present in each moment (ok well most moments, no one can be present for EVERY single moment – ok maybe the Dalai Lama) …when I am present in the moment accepting it for what it is, not trying to judge it or prolong it, not trying to control or change it in any way, I experience life on what feels like a different level, a deeper level maybe? My energy is different and I think that is because my vibrational level is different and as a result my interactions with people are different, the way I see situations and respond to them is different.
I even find that if I go into a situation with that high vibrational pattern often times it ends up changing the vibrational pattern of the person (even strangers which is awesome) that I am interacting with – both of you feel it and its pretty damn cool!! (Haven’t you ever been in a bad mood and after a conversation with someone your mood totally turned around and for no apparent reason? that’s what I call transference of energy).
Is this a load of crap?
Is there a way to live in a more conscious manner?
Is there a way to be more plugged into the matrix?
I think there is!
I don’t know if this happens to you but there are some mornings that I KNOW as soon as I open my eyes that I am plugged in and that this day is going to take me to some wonderful places (even though I am not physically deviating from my usual schedule). I am doing the usual stuff but it feels different, I feel different and the world actually seems different – it feels as if you and everything around you are part of the same flow…synergy. The trick is to have this on a sustained basis…
There are other days when I wake up and I know that I am going to have to work to get my energy right and increase my vibrational output – when having this conversation many years ago with a phenomenally wise old woman who was a master at this energy business, she told me ‘Darling it is simple you know, but not easy!’ On these days I try to make sure that I find something that will jump start my energy flow… for me it’s the beach, meditation, yoga, working out, writing or just anything that brings me back to a place of gratitude and mindfulness…
So here’s to LIVING not just existing (cliché I know, forgive me), and here’s to wonderful vibrational connections and positive energy…
Have you ever thought about what jump starts your energy flow?
Thank you so much…

Write it down if you have to and each month, set yourself a goal. It took me sometime, and I am still learning; you will get there soon… Stay on it!

Kat,
I totally relate to the whole “living in my head” thing. And as well, to the idea that I am not ‘present’ a lot of the time. I am there, but not there. I am cognizant of what is going on, but it seems that I am so obsessed with deeper meanings, that I lose the minutiae of the given moments in the doing. This is a good thing, for the most part, because I am grateful for what I have and I do not ask for more than that. I never ask the universe for a favor, I simply take what it gives me and I try to be faithful to that gift.

If I follow my routine I know it’s going to be a good day. I know that probably sounds odd
